Women in Science and Technology: Breaking down the glass ceiling in Latin America

Despite its growing relevance, science and technology (S&T) is one of the economic sectors with the lowest female presence

Despite its growing relevance, science and technology (S&T) is one of the economic sectors with the lowest female presence. Women account for less than 25% of specialized employment in S&T in Argentina, despite the fact that they account for 40% of graduates in these fields. The same happens in Brazil and Mexico: although they account for between 34 and 31% of graduates, they only represent between 19 and 20% of the sector.

Ensuring women’s participation in S&T is critical to help improve their living conditions, mitigate the intergenerational reproduction of poverty and promote inclusive economic growth.

That is why from CIPPEC, in collaboration with Salesforce, we reinforce our commitment towards increasing women’s presence in science and technology (S&T). But how? We tell you in this video.
