On its 20th anniversary, CIPPEC was distinguished –for the third consecutive year- as the best think tank in Argentina in the categories "National economic policy" and "Social policy", according to the 2019 edition of the Global Go To Think Tanks Index.
Founded 20 years ago, CIPPEC is a non-profit, impartial independent organization that proposes, supports, evaluates and makes visible better public policies that anticipate future dilemmas through applied research, open dialogues and supporting governance. Its mission is to propose policies pursuing development, equity and the strengthening of democracy. It produces knowledge: in 2019, its experts produced over 40 publications, including public policy documents, working papers and reports. Based on this knowledge, CIPPEC carries out projects at the international, national, provincial and municipal levels, with governments of all political parties. Its team is composed by more than 100 people, including researchers and members of institutional areas.
The “2019 Global Go To Think Tank Index Report”, produced by the University of Pennsylvania, relieves the best public policy centers by region, research area and performance. In the 2019 edition, CIPPEC was recognized as the second best think tank in Argentina, fourth in Central and South America and number 47 in the global ranking (this latter includes 158 think tanks based outside the United States).
CIPPEC was again recognized as the best managed think tank in Argentina in 2019. This means that it disseminates institutional decisions among all of the organization’s executives and staff, fostering fluid communication within, which generates mutual understanding, shared values and transparency. In addition, it manages to attract experts and involves them in the pursuit of its institutional mission, ensuring staff training through workshops and career plans.
The ranking also distinguished CIPPEC as the best interdisciplinary research think tank in the country, as the one with the best network with other organizations, and the one with the best external relations program. It is also the Argentine think tank with the best media strategy (both printed and digital) and use of the Internet.
Argentina, with a total of 227 identified institutions, is the Latin American country with the most think tanks, and ranks fifth worldwide, after the US, India, China and the UK.
