CIPPEC ranked as the most important economic and social policy think tank of Argentina

CIPPEC has been recognized as the most important economic and social policy think tank of Argentina by the 2016 Global Go To Think Tanks Index.

CIPPEC has been recognized as the most important economic and social policy think tank of Argentina by the 2016 Global Go To Think Tanks Index, a study conducted by the University of Pennsylvania surveying more than 6500 institutions globally.

The study ranked CIPPEC number 13 in the global social policy think tanks ranking and number 21 in the economic policy institutions ranking. In both cases, it is the highest-ranked Argentinian think tank. This positions CIPPEC as regional leader in both fields, together with Brazil’s Fundación Getulio Vargas.

Moreover, CIPPEC took sixth in the Central and South American region, and second in the country.

The results were announced last Thursday at an event hosted at CARI, one of the many simultaneous launch events held in more than 85 cities around the world, and Julia Pomares, CIPPEC’s Executive Director, was among the attendees.

These results confirm the path of international insertion pursued by the institution, which will go even further this year with CIPPEC’s participation in several events of the T20, a network of think tanks from member countries of the G20, which will be chaired by our country in 2018.

In this regard, the T20 invited Julia Pomares to serve as member of the committee that will evaluate public policy recommendations developed by think tanks for consideration by the G20 member countries. Moreover, Jorge Mandelabum, CIPPEC’s President, was appointed co-chair of the Anti-corruption Working Group of the B20, which is the G20 official business dialogue.

Furthermore, next February CIPPEC will participate in the ‘T20 Africa Conference’ covering the topic of the role played by think tanks, where Magalí Brosio, Coordinator of the Economic Development Program, will give a speech.

CIPPEC has also been invited to the T20 Summit that will take place in Berlin, Germany, in March, which will be attended by Mercedes Méndez Ribas, Institutional Development Director.

Also in March, Germany, as chair of the 2017 G20 Summit, will organize in Buenos Aires an event of the W20, the G20 gender dialogue, for which CIPPEC has been chosen as co-host.
