Gala Díaz Langou, CIPPEC´s Executive Director, was invited to join the Steering Committee of Southern Voice, an international network of which CIPPEC is a member, until the next General Assembly scheduled for November this year.

The committee is currently chaired by Debapriya Bhattacharya (Center for Policy Dialogue, Bangladesh) and its members are Bitrina Diyamett (Science, Technology and Innovation Policy Research Organization, Tanzania), Chukwuka Onyekwena (Centre for the Study of the Economies of Africa, Nigeria), Pablo Hurtado (Asociación de Investigación y Estudios Sociales, Guatemala), Vaqar Ahmed (Sustainable Development Policy Institute, Pakistan), Karin Fernando (Center for Poverty Analysis, Sri Lanka) and Lorena Alcázar (Group for the Analysis of Development, Peru).

Southern Voice is a network of think tanks created in 2012 to contribute to the global dialogue on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and increase the impact of the South’s 2030 Agenda, thus addressing the “knowledge asymmetry” and “participation deficit” in the development dialogue. It produces, promotes and disseminates evidence-based policy analysis by researchers from countries in the Global South. Today, 51 think tanks from Africa, Latin America and Asia are part of the network.
